Bertolucci Introduces Masculine Line of Serena Garbo

The watchmakers opted for bronze as the metal is matte, not gleaming in the sun - thus not giving away the hunter's location to his prey. According to the company, the name of the Africa-inspired timepiece is composed of the initial letters of the last names of three friends - Geoffroy, Fissore and Canali (GeFiCa). The friends got involved into a big-game hunt in Africa. They were struck by the idea of developing a timepiece for hunters. The company wanted to produce an avant-garde haute horlogerie watch with the bezel edge shaped to remind the rim of a volcano crater. The Gefica Safari creation was inspired by the arts and landscape of Africa. The sophisticated architecture of the model reminds the volcanic topography of the country and the geometric lines of its Primitive Arts. The two-tone case is produced from bronze and titanium. The Gerald Genta company is the first to introduce such combination of materials. The idea to use bronze initially appeared in 1988, the year when the company, at that time owned by the prominent watch designer Gerald Genta, developed the first Gefica watch. The original model of the Gefica was meant to satisfy the needs of hunters. You will also notice the twin rows of titanium beads on the middle of the case and the crown. This unconventional detail was suggested by the African tribal art featuring the similar body painting on bronzed skin and geometrical shapes.

Golden Bridge Adam and Eve Watch: "Paradise Watch" from Corum

Sport-style and refinement - these are appropriate definitions to describe the model called Endurance Three Hand Chronograph Watch from Burberry. It's not easy to have a watch which could combine two absolutely different notions - sportiness and elegance. There are not many watches that can be worn and appropriate with any apparel and in any life situation. But if speaking about Burberry's Endurance Three Hand Chronograph Watch, the idea has certainly been crowned with success. Due to the lack of bright details, the watch does not look garish and provocative. Though the elegant and refined British brand Burberry has never been noticed in such kind of inclinations and trends. The actors already crossed Ethiopia and are presently found at the border of Kenya. McGregor and Boorman dubbed their journey "Long Way Down". BBC is filming the journey, and its details may be also found through the Long Way Down website, a kind of on-line diary personally kept by the duo. During the trip the travelers had to cross some dangerous areas. They dealt with scorpions in the boots, sand rash, and sweat rash. The celebrities protect themselves with help of special gear, having used baby-wipes as an excellent way to clean the body. During the trip the actors try to find out what is the food like in different areas they are traveling through. The tastiest food they've so far eaten was in Sudan. Three counters dial of the chronograph 40 mm in diameter has a striped red-black strap made of fabric and covered with a light layer of 18 K gold that adds refinement and great look to the timepiece.

Chocolate and Romance for Ladies by Frederique Constant

Corum is a rather young Swiss watch producer that celebrated its 50 anniversary last year. But today it is not only one of the most prestigious watch brands but one of the most creative ones. Bold and varied design of the Golden Bridge Adam and Eve Watch just cannot be disliked. As for its quality, it is not worse than the models of the companies with centuries-long traditions. Every watch series from Corum is full of new ideas and philosophy. The new model from famous series Golden Bridge is called Adam and Eve Watch. The mechanism is devised to be able to measure elapsed time intervals to within 1/10th of a second due to the high frequency balance wheel. The timepiece appeared to pay tribute to a notable event in the history of Formula 1 racing. During the 1971 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza, just 1/100th of a second separated Peter Gethin, the winner, from Ronnie Peterson, his closest rival. To commemorate the legendary Milanese track, and the closest F1 racing finish ever, TAG Heuer designed its Monza Calibre 36 chronograph watch. The mechanism of the Monza Calibre 36 automatic chronograph is based upon a pendulum oscillating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, thus offering a great precision level. It is an officially-certified chronometer. The first model Golden Bridge appeared in 1987. Since then the collection has regularly been renovated with limited edition series that stand out from other brands production by their originality. "Superb craftsmanship combined with the endless search for beauty and innovation" is the Corum's motto. It is not obligatory to buy a wrist watch with a hundred of diamonds to look stylish.

The Seiko Blue Monster

The bracelet is brushed with polished edges, and uses huge spring bars. (See this page for a nice tutorial on how to size the bracelet yourself.) The lugs are drilled which makes changing the strap or bracelet much easier.Waterproof to 200m or about 650 feet. The first thing you notice about the Seiko Orange Monster is the dial color. The Swiss company Doxa did research in the late 1960s and learned that orange is the color most visible in deep water, where shorter wavelengths get absorbed. The Orange Monster is a fairly large watch, but I find that it wears very comfortably due to its low profile, comfortable bracelet, 4 o'clock crown, and nicely etched caseback that keeps it in place on your wrist. Monster photo gallery. After James' review of extreme dive watches, I'd like to bring you back to Earth with a review of a modern classic: the Seiko Orange Monster.Introduced in early 2001, and officially called the SKX781, this bold diver from Seiko quickly inherited its nickname from its older sibling, the "Black Monster" (SKX779). The doming is more readable under water and avoids the mirror effect seen with flat crystals.)Stainless steel bracelet and clasp with fliplock, micro-adjustments, 17mm wetsuit extension. Notice that the matching scallops in the case align perfectly if you rotate the bezel in 5 minute increments — very nice touch. The crystal sits just below the concave bezel where it's well protected. The domed crystal is very clear and assists in readability both above and below the su***ce.

Review of the St. Moritz Aeromax

They introduced the world's first commercial dive watch, the Doxa Sub 300t, in 1967 with an orange dial, and you see it used on dive watches to this day. It makes for excellent above-water visibility, too, as the black hands contrast well against the orange face. Like the Doxa, this Seiko is a real diver's watch, rated to 200m (660ft) and bearing the "Diver's" logo that indicates ISO6425 compliance. (ISO6425 is the relevant standard for waterproofing, legibility, luminosity, shock resistance, anti-magnetism, and band solidity. There are also more expensive limited editions available in blue, yellow, PVD black, and red.Let's start with some specifications: 41.5mm by 12.5mm. 179g.Unidirectional rotating bezel, 120-clicks, with enamel in the recessed numerals.Screw-down crown at the 4 o'clock position with heavy guards.Bezel guard from 3:30 to 7:30 and 10:30 to 1:30.7s26 automatic movement: H/M/S, day & date, non-handwind, non-hacking, 21 jewels.Domed Hardlex crystal. (Hardlex is borosilicate glass, sometimes called mineral crystal. It's better than plastic and normal glass, but softer than sapphire. The chapter ring, which is a separate piece carrying the minute hash marks, is also concave, and provides a visual link between the face and bezel. The bracelet is simply superb. While I'm wishing on a star, an anti-reflective coating on the crystal would be nice. And that's about it. None of these issues are show-stoppers, and considering the price, it's hard to kvetch too much. Perhaps the greatest praise of the Orange Monster is the fact that on various forums dedicated to dive watches, every now and then someone asks for advice on a dive watch to actually dive with, often in locations where expensive brand-name items are a risk. The most common advice?"Get an Orange Monster.

The Casio STP

I love all the features, naturally, but there's more to love about this watch than just what it can do for you. Although it's not exactly a subtle timepiece, I think Casio did an excellent job on the design. It sits very comfortably on my wrist, and does not feel nearly as large as it is. All the buttons are well placed, big, easily accessible, and provide just the right amount of feedback. The sensors in the watch, which are located on the top left-hand side of the case, are inconspicuous, and reasonably well contained. The contour of the watch works both for my skinny wrist, and on some larger wrists I strapped it to for ergonomic testing. Electro-luminescent lighting. The PAW1200 series has a nice and bright illumination function which is pretty standard on digital watches these days. It also has another feature which I've come to love on Casios: the Auto Light Switch. To activate the Auto Light Switch, hold down the illumination button for three seconds (until the watch beeps), then whenever you tilt the watch face toward you at a 40° angle or greater, the watch will automatically illuminate. The resin strap is thick and sturdy, but soft and malleable, and it uses this new double pin system which I love the look of (two pins are used in the buckle rather than one). And finally, I just can't believe that Casio actually squeezed all this functionality into a single watch, all powered by the sun.

The Timex iControl IRONMAN

Citizen announces the new high-end Calibre 3100 collection. Done in the style of a classic dress watch, the Citizen Calibre 3100 collection sports modern touches like large date mixed with the vintage look of Roman numerals, subseconds at 6 o'clock, and an elegant dial.Features include:Perpetual calendar, good until the year 2100.Eco-Drive solar power.Large twin date display at the 12 o'clock position.24-hour dial at the 9 o'clock position, probably for a second time zone.Anti-reflective crystal.100m water resistant (about 330 feet). The Calibre 3100 collection contains a total of 7 watches with the BT0000-15A and BT0003-17A being limited editions. And it's even smart enough to only do it when the ambient light level is low enough that you actually need it. Brilliant (no pun intended). It's especially useful on the PAW1200 line since the illumination button is smaller than on most G-Shock models in order to make room for an additional button (the PAW1200 series needs no fewer than six buttons to manage all its features). You can even toggle the illumination duration between 1.5 and 2.5 seconds. Water-resistant to 10 ATM, 100 meters, or about 330 feet. The PAW1200 series consists of three different models: the black PAW1200-1V, the green PAW1200-3V, and the silver and titanium PAW1200T-7V. MSRP is $300, $300, and $380, respectively. I test drove the green model which I didn't think I'd like the color of, however it has really grown on me, and I think has actually become my favorite of the three. The Casio Pathfinder PAW100-3V has definitely become a favorite among my many Casios.

The New Citizen BL5315

As far as I can tell, the primary differences between the newlimited edition Blue Monster and the Orange, Yellow, and Black Monstersare: The Blue Monster has a newermovement: the 7S36 rather thanthe 7S26. Both movements have the same features (quick-set day anddate, no hacking, and no manual winding), but the 7S36 has two morejewels, which leads me to believe it's slightly more refined. The Blue Monster has a domedsapphire crystal rather thanthe Hardlex crystal of the Orange, Yellow, and Black models. Hardlexis, well, harder, meaning it is less prone to cracking or shattering, but sapphire is far more scratch-resistant. Given the choice, I'dprobably go for the sapphire. Thick, brushed stainlesssteel case. Domed sapphire crystal. Uni-directional rotatingbezel. Screw-down caseback. Water-resistant to 200meters, or about 650 feet. Screw-down crown (at the fouro'clock position). Luminescent hands and hourmarkers. Automatic movement (23jewels). The Blue Monster willprobably run you $100 to $200 morethan its more pedestrian siblings. If you're interested in one of these, you'll have to do somedigging around the Internet to find one, or take a watch-buying trip toJapan. I would expect it to run you between $300and $400.Update: I was recently informed that the Yellow Monster actually can't be grouped together with the Orange and Black Monsters. The Yellow Monster is a limited edition, as well, and also has a sapphire crystal, a slightly different movement, a cyclops over the date, and a couple other unique features.
